Information & Communication Technology

Castlemaine North places great emphasis on the use of information technologies to support the curriculum. Teachers and students use a variety of communication technologies to create andsupport our differentiated learning environment.  Our information and communication technologies include iPads, digital cameras, flip cameras, netbook computers, hover-cams and interactive whiteboards as well as an ever-increasing list of programs such as Movie Maker, Photo Story, Animotos, iPad applications, Screen Casting, interactive activities, BLOGS and word processing software.

Grades 3 to 6 students create an ongoing digital portfolio using BLOGs. This is a place to record and publish their learning that can be accessed at school and at home.

Grades 5 and 6 have a 1:1 computer leasing agreement and Grade 3 and 4 students have a 1:2 netbook program.  Junior Grades have access to a classroom bank of iPads to support their learning.  Lessons incorporating Information and Communication Technology are integrated across all curriculum domains and are designed to enhance the teaching and learning, whilst assisting students to meet specific learning outcomes.
